Thieves stole about $4,600 worth of Stihl chain saws and trim saws last weekend from two trucks parked at a vacant gas station off US-223 just west of US-23 in Whiteford Township.
Sheriff’s deputies said the owner of the equipment, who lives in Tecumseh, is a foreman for a Wright Tree Service crew that is working nearby. The work crew parked six of their trucks at the station Friday afternoon. When the crew returned Monday morning, the saws were missing.
The station has been closed for several years. There are no suspects, deputies said.
